How Long Does Numb Toe From Sciatica Last

If you are having pain in your foot, numbness in your toes and leg pain, that does not always mean there is a problem in the leg or foot. This may be a condition down your lower back. Have you ever been walking for a while and your toes or foot goes numb? Well, I have and I have a phrase that I would ask myself and it is "how long does numb toe from sciatica last?". I knew that I had sciatica problems and would become very frustrated when I walk or when I would go running. So I guess that was a way to vent a little and place the blame where I knew it should be placed.

It is very difficult for someone who has that constant thought in their head, "how long does numb toe from sciatica last?" I use to run, but stopped, not because of the pain, but because my toes would go numb then the numbness would actually be very painful if that makes any sense. And I know it is cause by my sciatic nerve in my lower back. Then numbness for me did not last very long, but it would not go away until I was sitting back down and at rest off of my feet.

Do you have sciatica pain? If you are having pain or numbness, then you need to be examined, and then you can place the blame where it needs to go too. When you go to the doctor, the diagnosis should not be restricted to the leg and hips, but should also be focused on your lower back. Even if you have no pain in your lower back, does not mean the problem does not start there. The problem can be sciatica and can cause pain to radiate from the lower back and down your leg to your foot and can cause your toes to go numb.

Most of us have had a leg, hand or foot 'fall asleep'. Then eventually and gradually we start to get that tingling, almost pain sensation and you want to just shake it trying to get the blood to flow again. I think that is the worst part about numbness. I hope you are able to figure out what is causing this for you and do what you can to relieve it.

Treatment for Sciatica:Tip #1

1. Ice - In the first 48 hours, you need to use ice to help reduce the inflammation which is around the nerve. This can help to stop it from getting worse. Use the ice for 10 minutes, then off for 10 and on again for 10 minutes. Keep doing this 2 or 3 times

Treatment for Sciatica:Tip #2

2. Stretching – You have a muscle called the Piriformis muscle. This muscle has the sciatic nerve running through it or along side it. By stretching this muscle you are able to ease the pain quickly.

Treatment for Sciatica:Tip #3

3. Pelvis Balance – This is a great treatment for sciatica because the pelvis is what keeps everything in balance. If your pelvis is balanced, then the tension will ease off all the other areas. You can do this by lying down on the floor. Place your hand under each side of your pelvis where you would wear your belt. As you are doing this, notice if there is more pressure on one side or the other. If here is more pressure on one side compared to the other, then your pelvis is not balanced.

Treatment for Sciatica:Tip #4

4. Move – You need to keep moving, not too fast, but move. If you sit for to long at a time, your muscles will tighten much quicker. Have you ever noticed that your pain is worse in the morning after sleeping all night? When you are able to move, this helps your pain ease a little. This is why moving is an important treatment for sciatica.
